Nigel S Williams FCA    Director

A qualified Chartered accountant Nigel has spent 20 years in professional practice being trained by Price Waterhouse. He has over the years looked after a diverse range of businesses in the private sector. He has developed a detailed understanding of the UK tax system, and is able to offer his clients all of the basic compliance services they will need but also advice in the more complicated areas such as business purchase or sale, succession planning, raising finance, financial budgeting and modelling and commercial tax driven solutions to business problems.

Many of our clients require audit services and Nigel is able to provide a unique approach to audit using an innovative technological solution to allow the audit to proceed quickly and smoothly through to sign off and the production of accounts.

He believes that; "To be able to advise a client effectively an accountant must firstly understand what the client is ultimately trying to achieve in relation to their business and how their business fits into the individual’s plans for their life and ultimate goals. When this is clear the professional should then be able to call upon a broad range of commercial and technical skills  to assist the client in ensuring that the they are successful in achieving their aims in their business and in life."

Neil Mounter FCA    Director

Born in Tredegar and raised in Abertillery, Neil is very proud of his Welsh roots.

Having trained in Newport and then Bristol Neil qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1972 and worked in industry for six years starting at GKN South Wales in Cardiff before joining the practice in Monmouth.  The practice was originally called R A Williams and Co changing its name to Agincourt Practice following incorporation in 2000.  The firm opened a Cardiff office in 1984.  Neil has been very involved with local Gwent & Powys branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales for a long time. In 2004 he spent a year in office as President of the South Wales Society of Chartered Accountants.

Neil and his wife Val who live just outside Monmouth have two grown up children, a son-in-law and one grandchild and 2 dogs to take care of. His interests included riding motor cycle trials as a teenager and playing rugby for the school. He continued playing rugby for various teams ending with Monmouth Rugby Club at the age of 32 as his playing career was cut short by an unfortunate meeting between his foot and a chainsaw!  Still very keen on keeping fit Neil enjoys skiing and sailing when allowed.  Since 1981 he has been a member of the Monmouthshire Agricultural Club and is a past chairman and its current treasurer.

Emyr Evans ACA    Director

Born in Carmarthen and a fluent Welsh speaker he graduated from Aberystwyth University in 1983,with a degree in Economics and Accounting.

Emyr then went on to become qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986 with Deloitte Haskins & Sells today known as Touche. During his time with the firm he rose to Senior Manager looking after the commercial and technical advice for a range of clients which included The Bank of Wales; HTV, Cardiff University and many SMEs based in the South Wales area. In 1992 he founded Evans Hughes a Chartered Accountancy practice based in Cardiff. This unique organisation specialised in offering SME advisory services which included accounting, audit and taxation but latterly focussed on delivering an IT driven accounting and outsourcing service for SME’s that connected the role of accountants and advisors to the clients in house accounting information systems. The practice joined with Agincourt in April 2010.

Emyr is married with 2 daughters living in Cardiff. A dedicated rugby follower and a lifelong supporter of the Llanelli Scarlets. He enjoys keeping fit and is a regular visitor with his family to his local gym.
